For a 20+ year old firearm, it's in fine shape. Any chance you might have a copy of the serial numbers and could give me an idea of the vintage of my gun? My first goal is to determine the age of the recoil spring and barrel, and secondly to determine some history of the pistol. Numrich Gun Parts, the previous owner of Auto Ordnance, used to have the database, but it was surrendered to the ATF a few years ago. All they could say is that the pistol was made in the 1970's up until 1999. The grips are brown plastic with the bronze arrowhead disk. The port-side slide stampings show the Thompson arrowhead and "AUTO-ORDNANCE CORP.45 CALIBER AUTOMATIC". The serial number is AOC59036, manufactured in West Hurley, NY. 45 ACP, has checkered walnut grips and phiosphate-style finish. I bought an Auto-Ordnance M1911 used from a gun shop and I'm trying to determine the age of the gun. Federal Ordnances version of 1911A1 Colt service pistol.
